Facilities
Welcome to our studio.
It seems like everyone has the capacity to make decent recordings these days. With affordable software, interfaces, and even low cost microphones, the demos we hear are getting better and better every year.
But there are many reasons why these tools are far from replacing a professional studio. For example, records made with real instruments sound richer, wider, deeper, and just plain better. To properly record instruments like drums, guitar amps, or piano, you need a sufficient amount of space for the sound to develop. That translates into cubic feet (volume) of space to record in. A pretty nice home studio has about 880 cubic feet of space. ThatÕ³ actually smaller than some of our isolation rooms! By way of comparison, our main room in Studio A has over 22,000 cubic feet of space.
Recording space is just one of many variables involved in recording. But sometimes its easier to make your point with numbers. This is just one of the many reasons why a professional studio is the right choice when you want a recording that is going to compete with the rest of the talent out there.
