Treelady Studios Services

Piano and DanTreelady Studios was founded in Pittsburgh, PA as a mastering and restoration studio.  However, due to demand we have expanded to offer tracking, mixing, overdubs, and micro-run duplication.  Today, we offer the digital or analog recording in Studio A (using a Pro Tools HD3 system or 2-inch 24-track Sony MCI analog tape).  In our recording, mixing, and voice over Studio D, we have a Pro Tools HD2 system for complete cross-studio compatibility.  From singer songwriters, to bands, to orchestral groups, we have recording a vast array of instruments and styles.

Our mastering Studio G features unsurpassed monitoring via Dunlavy SC-VI speakers, supported by Mark Levinson and Halfler power amps, and fed by the latest 5.1 surround Crane Song Avocet system.  Additionally, we are one of the few mastering houses in the world with the Rupert Neve designed Legendary Audio Masterpiece system.   We offer CD mastering, iTunes or digital release mastering, mastering video sound track, pre-vinyl mastering, and surround mastering.  From single songs, to EPs, full-length CDs, to double-length collections, we can provide you with quality results that allow you to compete with major label, independent, or boutique audiophile releases.

Our restoration Studio R is equipped with numerous playback options.  We have transferred successfully 8-track cassette, 4-track cassette, 6-track cassette, vinyl LPs, shellac 78’s platters, DATs, ADATs, micro disc, plus many other rare or hard-to-find formats.

We invite you to investigate Treelady Studios’ individual studio pages.  And of course, if you are live around or are visiting the Pittsburgh-area, feel free to call and schedule a tour to see the facilities in person.  Our experienced staff can answer questions about your recording capabilities, philosophy, and working style.  We hope you will find that Treelady Studios is one of the finest recording studios available.

Joy and PianoThe Recording Life Cycle

Recording a record is no different than building an airplane, erecting a sky scraper, or any other project undertaking. You must plan, prepare, execute, adjust, polish, and release your work. At Treelady Studios, we can help you get ready for your next recording.

We can assist you in all stages of the recording process. If you've recorded at another studio, we have mixing engineers who can blend your tracks in to a cohesive album. And of course, there is mastering, where your raw mixes are polished and sequenced for release. We invite you to take a look around at the services pages. Of course, if you still have questions, please feel free to contact us at the contact address listed on this site.

MXL and TomOther Services

In addition to tracking, mixing, and mastering, we also offer service that you might not find in many studios. For example, voice over students and talent can record in our studio while your producer phones in from another location. These remotely produced sessions are a great way for you to get the input and criticism of an L. A.-based audio director without having to fly to the west coast each week.

We also do transfers of analog formats such as cassette multi-track, reel-to-reel tape, vinyl, and shellac 78 platters. Our restoration and preservation tools are on par with the finest restoration houses in the U.S. And we have been trusted with one-of-a-kind audio assets by institutions and private collectors alike.

Hear Our Work

Thanks to internet technology, we are able to stream lower fidelity versions of our clients' work here on the web. Our player features recordings that were done entirely at Treelady Studios, some that were mixed and mastered here, and others that were recorded and mixed at other facilities but mastered with us. Click here for more information about the songs we've presented. We also have information about the artists, what parts were completed at our facility, and how you can purchase or find out more about the music. Who knows, maybe your project will be featured here in the future.
